Well, I sold my motorcycle and with inspiration from elguapo, I decided to look for an early 60's c10. I was really looking for a curved front window, but when I saw this one I couldn't pass it up. It needs tons of body work, but the engine and trans are solid. Its an inline 6 (will have to verify cubic inches) with a 4 speed manual transmission.

I will post some pics tonight!

Short bed. Here is the only pic I have for now.

Started pulling things apart and compiling a list of parts I need and parts i can salvage. It came with a bed in much better shape, just need to switch over the wheel well covers and build a new wood floor.

Previous owners also did a hack job on the wiring. I was trying to fix as much as I could, but decided to just redo the whole thing with an updated fuse box. I will start on that once I get the bed off and get my first order of business going....

HANDLING!!!! Ordered all the parts to get me stopping and cornering while also giving me a better ride. This is the setup I am going with:

Ez-ride air bag suspension - I was a little skeptical because of the price, but after doing some research I found out that the quality is good and stands up to the competition. http://www.ezairride.com/EZ-Air-Ride-Classic-Chevy-1963-1972-C10-Air-Suspension-Kit

Drop spindles with disk brake conversion in the front - This will allow me to upgrade my braking and allowing me to get the most out of my air ride. I should be able to ride at stock height when bags are full and put me on the ground while aired down. http://www.americanclassic.com/Google_Base_HTML_Pages/BR3567D-1964.htm

2" block for the rear - Will give me the extra 2" in the rear to match the 2.5" in the front. Will also give me the extra distance I need between the frame and axle for the bags. I will eventually get a bolt in c clip for the frame which will give me about 5 more inches between the frame and axle for when I'm hauling things in the bed or pulling a trailer. https://westernchassisinc.com/Rear-Lowering-Block-Kit-C10/

Got all of these for just over $1,700 shipped. It will give me everything I need as far as ride and function and allow me to upgrade easily in the future.

That's a great year, and short bed!
I'll be interested to follow the build. particularly with the air ride!
Might have to convert in a few years
