Transfer case linkage

Next week I will be pulling my aw4 readmission mated to a np242 to replace a freeze plug. I plan on disconnecting the NSS from under the hood. How do I disconnect the linkage on the driver side between the transmission and transfer case?

I have searched but have not found anything.

Pry apart the linkage ball end at the green bushing.
