1998 HO Swap?

Hi everyone, I have the chance to buy a 1998 jeep xj two 5-speed with 100,000 on the body and engine for $900. but the bad part is that one of the lower control arm mounts is rotted out and the guy left one of the combustion chambers with out a spark plug. So my question is will a 1996 Ho engine fit in if i need to swap it out.

is the motor bad leaving the spark plug out may not be a deal breaker... if the hood was closed I would see if it turns over with a wrench and maybe a lil atf down the hole and turn it over.. might be ok

the hood was closed but the hood latch wound not engage so it doesn't stay closed
