FF Dynamics Triple Threat fan wiring diagram with 3 relays and 3 fuses

I wanted to share a wiring diagram I came up with for the FF Dynamics Triple Threat fan kit. I was also hoping for some feedback.

I am close to a complete newbie on wiring, so keep that mind (play nice!). Let me know if there is anything I'm overlooking here.

that will all work fine.
If it's a late model, leave the third fan controlled by the PCM, or it will chuck a check engine light and code.

I wish this is how they recommended to wire the kit up when I first got mine. I burned up the relay that came with the fan controller not long after installing it. I ended up using a 75 amp relay to power the fans controlled by the supplied fan controller. This would be slightly easier to wire than using three separate relays.

How long have you had the 75 amp relay installed?

And have you had any problems since upgrading the relay?

I did this as an experiment to teach myself wiring diagrams and relay setups, but when it comes down to it, simpler is better. I could always carry a spare relay (doesn't even have to be 75 amps) that could get me home if I had a failure.

I have had the current setup with 75amp relay for several years with no issues. I did have the temp adjustment on the controller get torn up to the point that its useless and now my fans are on whenever the key is on. I will be replacing it with a cheap parts store adjustable controller soon.

Hey Jonner. I am new here. Id like to install the same setup as what you have in the above photos. With some things added though.
#1. How do I add a fan (or all 3) to the PCM so I do not get a CEL with code.
#2. I want to have a switch with three settings (up, middle, and down,) mounted in my Jeep to control it like this: http://i.imgur.com/dxPRs.png

Here is link to the whole page- http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/electric-auxillary-fan-override-switch-132465/
So
Up=Fans running all the time
Middle=Fans operate as normal
Down=Fans are completely off
Do you know if I can do this with the 3 fan setup? Thanks!

Sorry. Didnt see the Post Reply. First time haha.

#1 You can use as many sources as you need to turn on the fans as long as you use diodes to prevent voltage from feeding back into the system. To hook up to the PCM you need to tie into the wire for the factory electric fan and use that to trigger a relay.
#2 You should be able to get this kind of functionality by just thinking about how you set up each circuit. I think there are some expensive programmable fan controllers out there that can give you the functionality you are looking for.

Hey Sirfoxalot, just saw your question. I am by no means a wiring expert, but I'll take a stab at your question .

I didn't have to deal with the ECU getting upset, so I don't answer to this. For whatever reason, I didn't get a CEL when I removed my normal E-fan. Not sure why, but it has never worked since I bought it so I didn't use the circuit at all. Other members have been exploring this in detail though:
http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1025399. Fans would operate as normal when the switch is in one position. When you want to override that and have them on 100% you flip the switch to the other position. Check out that thread.
