Back in August of 2013 I installed a pair of Spicer ball joints in the D30 in my ZJ. Now, 7400 miles later the replaced side has play of .015" while the other side (stock joints as far as I know) has only .003".
When it was put together nothing odd was noticed. It all went together as it should and no binding was noticed. I'm going to be installing a new pair but I would like to know if it is possible to do any checks on the the inner C or knuckle to verify that there isn't something bent causing a misalignment condition and in effect causing the joints to wear prematurely.
