if you havent cleaned your TB and replaced your IAC ..

if ya haven't take the time and $ to do it.... a hours time and $55 at Orielly for a BWD brand IAC valve and a can of TB cleaner makes for a much smoother idling XJ.

I had previously sprayed the TB while on the engine. Thought I had it cleaned out pretty well but still had a rough idle. Not too bad, but rough.

Pulled the TB today and pulled the IAC valve off and man what a ugly surprise. All sooty and black. None of the previous cleaning had done any good on it.
Cleaned it out real good and put the new IAC valve in and it is soooo much smoother idling now.
Well worth the time and cost to do it. :thumbup:

Indeed. We just bought a 99 last week and that was one of the first things we did. So easy my wife did it. :greensmok

I grabbed an extra throttle body at the JY, I just take apart one and clean it completely then replace when I clean my air filter every month or two.
