well i was doing a filter fluid change on my 94 xj and found itybity chuncks in the pan, so im wondering if a aw4 out of a 97 will work in my 94. or if anybody has a good working aw4 layin around that they dont need and can part with for very little money. thx

Lol, sorry bro i couldn't help myself.

Btw, iirc the 97 trannies have a different spline count on either the input or output shaft. Cant remember which one

Pretty sure a H.O is an H.O. should be 23 spline

i found this http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1053970 so now i guess i can call the guy and see when i can come look at the aw4 that he had and work on a price.

The 97' should also still use all the connectors from early models, the 98' was when they changed connectors. the only real difference is yours is obd-1 and the 97' is a obd-2. Don't know how that will play out but should work.

If your other one falls through I have the 99 year tranny. It's just collecting dust.
