Okay people, I would like to know what tips or tricks or products you guys use to get your axles clean. I've been working on mine and would like to paint it before it goes back in. So please enlighten me with your wisdom!

Dewalt cordless, wire wheels of assorted sizes, safety glasses, and some Mineral spirits/paper-towel to get all the residue off afterwards. they should be ready for some good old rattle can at that point.

Grab a can of easy off oven cleaner, spray everything down, let it soak for half an hour while you drink a beer or three, rinse off the easy off with garden hose, and THEN attack it with the Dewalt cordless.

I thought I remember reading about someone using Simple Green to clean up their axle once... was it TORX?
