89 renix 4.0 on its last leg

Its time to lay my ole 4.0 to rest. my problem is what to put back in.. Just replace the stock with a crate motor with the renix setup( not running well either) upgrade to a HO with OBDII or to convert to small block chevy. I'm not specifically looking for big power gains but I do want simple and reliable. Reliable Being the biggest factor. I have even looked into going propane. any thoughts or guidance would be greatly appreciated

it is the pinnacle of stupid simple bombproof fuel injection.
If you're going to swap it OBD, just do OBD-1.
too much crap to deal with in II.

I just rebuilt a 96ZJ 4.0 with a 93 wrangler head and its running beautifully with renix... portmatched the renix intake to the head

less than 600 in the complete rebuild

I vote RENIX

Just slap another longblock in it... probably get one for a few hundred bucks.

Takes an afternoon (especially with no rust) and goes in easily.
