Radiator fan switches on/off when heater is on??

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I am just unsure if this is normal or not.

Whenever my heater is on my radiator fan clicks on and off every few seconds. I get a slight loss in battery power when it happens as well. I notice it mostly at night because my lights dim slightly when the fan clicks on. Is this normal?

Thanks for any help!

Is your "heater" set to defrost? Either all defrost or heat/defrost?

If so, it's normal for your e-fan to cycle on/off with your A/C compressor to remove moisture from the air to defrost the windows.
