Upper right hand corner of my cluster gauge, back when I learned about the self check thing(depress trip reset and turn key to on) I had the original cluster with dummy lights, didn't think to try it again after swapping to a full gauge cluster so dinking around I tried it again and that showed? Never seen that come on before so I don't know what it means or does.

Tells you to upshift for.best economy, its pretty much worthless

Did you mean Stick?

They had to have that light so when the vehicles were driven on the EPA mileage loop, they would get the best mileage possible. Worthless in real life driving.

no, why would the upshift light be unused on a stick? the whole purpose of it being there is suggest when you should shift.

I wasn't being sarcastic. It was only used on stick aka manual transmissions. Not autos. They shift on their own.
