CTS readings 89 Renix - 160 - 175*f

The readings on my Snap on scanner show 160 to 175 deg. at hwy speeds. The AIT sensor gets up to 160 or so, and sometimes reads above CTS at cruising speeds.

My dash gage stays 190 to 200ish, my question is, does the sensor being located on the side of the block make for the low temp. readings?

My ltft and stft are 124 to 134 on the long term and short term fluctuates 15 boths sides of 128.

Gas mileage is 18 to 20.

I would check the CTS with a ohm meter and a thermometer in a pot of water with different temps. There should be a graph somewhere with the values it should read at certain temps.

Even though the dash gauge is in the expected range, I wouldn't really trust it for much more than a consistency reading. (knowing where normal is, anything out of the ordinary is cause for further inspection)

Your gas mileage is great. Is it mostly freeway or mixed or city?
