Coilovers vs Airshocks

it was only a matter of time but my coil towers are starting to bend, so gonna go witer coil overs ar airshocks, who runs what and why, really know nothing about either.

I have 0 experience airshocks but heard they have no place on a full bodied rig, especially the front of a nose heavy XJ. Take that FWIW. And no I'm not talking specifically about go-fast stuff.

Coilovers will be more expensive, SHOULD be tuned (revalved specific to your rig) and you need to calculate out your spring rates.

Coilovers will be much better all around after tuning and are the same as far as packaging goes. You'll still need bumps with both of them.

shouldnt the debate here be between coilovers and ORI's? cant even compare air shocks to coilovers

Whatever you do Rob, just make sure you get 2.5's. 2.0's have no place in the front of a XJ.

Blow a seal on an air shock and you'll ride home on your bump stop... I can't imagine this would be an easy thing to do on a full body rig with 42s!!

Go check the stuff ADS puts together. They'll help you figure out things like spring rate and valving.
