Hood latch broken wire

Now that I'm almost done w brake lines it's time for good to be able to close. I got a line and latch from junk yard and after connectiong it broke when I pulled. I put pb blast mechanism that holds wire and is supposed to move cable it is stuck solid. Now what? I try taking whole thing out to torx screws are ran out.
