Here it is. 96XJ, AW4, 6cyl HO. I recently replaced my power steering pump. After reassembling everything, I belt squealed at my first start up only when I turned the A/C on. I tightened the belt and the squeal went away. 2 days later, at first start up the belt squeals for 1-2 minutes but ONLY when the A/C is on. It seems that after the motor warms up it goes away. Today, I started it with the A/C on, behold there was no squeal BUT my volt meter nosedived more than usual but came back up after a couple of minutes. I should mention, I used some CRC belt conditioner on the belt and let it set up while I worked on the pump and NO I do not have a belt tension gauge.
Is my A/C about to take a dump or is my belt not tensioned correctly?
It's 98degrees @ 100% humidity outside right now. I would really like to stay ahead of this.
