Renix RMS from Rockauto

I got these from Rockauto the other day.

They cost $3 to $4 on a factory closeout deal.

There was no pic of the part so I was chancing they were the correct part.

The box says 08-03-94 on it, do you think the seal is still good?

Also, what are the rope type seals for?
