New XJ owner here and it needs new shocks, coils, and leafs. Im on limited funds for the time being and wanted to replace the shocks for now, then a month or so down the road im going to lift 3" with coils and full leafs. Just wondering if I can use the slightly longer SJ-N8018 with the stock leafs instead of SJ-N8008 so I dont have to worry about replacing them when I do the lift.

N8018-
Extended Length (in.)
22.58
Collapsed Length (in.)
13.71
Shock Stroke (in.)
8.81

N8008-

Extended Length (in.)
19.07
Collapsed Length (in.)
12.07

Just trying to save time and $.
Thanks for the information. :peace:

Just looking at the numbers, I would say the collapsed length is going to be too long for use with saggy stock springs. The shock will be bottomed out and the ride will be crappy. Don't bother changing the shocks at all until the new springs are installed.
