Hey everyone,
I'm putting a new long block in my 2001 Cherokee Sport (4.0 I6). While was removing the flywheel/torque converter access panel, a plastic/hard rubber, semi-circular "collar" fell out in 3 pieces from the front of the access cover up high. I didn't get a chance to see exactly where or how it was attached. It's about 4" long and 3/4" wide (in cross section). Any thoughts? Thanks

Take a pic? Not sure what you're talking about.

Sure sounds like the oil pan support thing like everyone else already said, but a picture will clear it up 100%.

Picture time. Sounded like the CPS dust cover to me.

CPS dust shield. Its hard to get back in to place. At least it was for me. I gave up haha.
I put mine back in because it doubles as a "keeps some clumsy idiot from accidentally dropping the upper CKP mounting bolt into the bellhousing" dustcover :wow:
