Rear hatch ?

I know that the 97 later model front ends are a pretty common swap for the early models. Will the rear hatch from a later model fit an earlier year. The newer style has a rounder look to it that i like and since i want to do the front end i was just wanting to try to make the back match.

Not without a lot of major body work...

The 97's and up have internal hinges....the earlier models have exterior hinges.

As well as different hinges, the later models also have different-shaped rear light units. So the shape of the hatch around the rear light clusters - and possibly the rear-panel bodywork around the lights - is slightly different.

Doing a swap seems more trouble than it's worth, for such a marginal change in appearance.
