Looking to see if these can be bought at any auto parts store, if so what would the application be for? figure its some kind of 1 ton. I have seen the ones you can buy from currie but they seem pretty pricy, just wondering if there is an alternative.

Thanks
John

The only alternative would be to modify the ends of the links for other TRE's . One of the downfalls to the system I suppose. If they do not fail that often, then it does not seem like a bad investment tho.

Thanks for the responses guys, have the kit but the tre are needing replaced, guess ill just suck it up and get the currie ones haha

The smaller thread is 7/8" and the larger Drag link thread is 1 1/8" so a standard end could be found ... But the taper would be of issue. Retapering for a GM end would work but increase the cost ... and the ends would be of equal price anyway.

Ok sounds good thanks again, main concern was just availbility if needed one while out on a trip somewhere, was just looking to see if any from a general parts store would work. Thanks

iirc the smaller thread is not 7/8x18, it is a metric thread that is almost exactly the same size, but not quite.

The stock threading is 22mm for the Tie Rod Ends and 24mm at the pitman arm end of the Drag Link. That may be where you heard that. Or not.

The 7/8" and 1 1/8" came direct from Currie's product info for the replacement TRE and DRE's. If Currie used the same threading as stock, then stock parts would work as well.
