85 4.2 OK for Stroker

I have a 1985 4.2 sitting in the garage with 85K on it and thinking of using the internals for a 4.6 stroker. Should I trash it and just get the heavier crank or is the heavier crank really over rated?

It depends on what you are building for, A faster revving motor, Or one that will idle up over rocks. Offhand I'd say both would be worth more power than a stock 4.0l.

I wouldn't sweat the difference. Just my .02

I'd use it, it doesn't really matter.
