Hey,

Backup lights did work for a bit but now nothing (bulbs are good), backup switch? Where is is located and do you have a picture?

88 Cherokee, 4.0 w/Automatic, 4x4

it's the same part as the neutral safety switch-- search for how to clean it and you'll probably have back up lights again.

If you're having trouble with starting or not starting in P or N it will almost certainly be the NSS needs a re-furb. BUT:

Check the TRANS 7.5A fuse on the right hand side of the fuse box under the dash. It's connected to the NSS back-up light and Power/Comfort switch. The P/C switch quite often shorts, rendering the back-up lights volt-less.

Not uncommon for the P/C switch to short out. Easily bypassed into permanent Power mode.
