Softer Coil Springs

Ive come to realize that my Pro Comp Coil springs are stiff as chit. Also I am looking to ditch my 3.5" coils and 1" spacer and replace with 4.5" coils which should level my jeep out a bit better. Which coils would be "softer" for DD.... Rusty's or RE super ride coils? Or any other brand that would be good....

RE's are pretty soft and I think you can get then for around $70 shipped from seriousoffroad.

Best way is to look up or call for thier spring rate. I went from rustys 6.5 that were 180 to Rough county 4.5 that are 140.

WOW, just looked up my pro comp springs, they have a 230lbs spring rate.........yowza!

do they RC springs feel softer than the rustys?

Oh yeah, Uncompressed they were both the same height. 230 is very stiff!

I might pick up some RC if they are at a 140 spring rate....almost 100 lbs difference in what I currently have.

RE1300 Front 3.5" 240 lbs/in
RE1310 Front 4.5" 164 lbs/in
RE1345 Front 5.5" 184 lbs/in
RE1358 Front 7.5" 213 lbs/in

I am running bilsteins and I have always wondered why my jeep still rides bad....now I know.....its my coils!!!!

well RC wants $150 shipped to my door versus $81.25 for RE springs from Serious....Plus, I like the idea of having RE coils to match my leaf springs.

I bought some progressive springs for my truck. They have a smaller winding and a larger one so when the truck isn't loaded they ride good but if you get into some bumps they stiffen up. Might want to check into that if you drive it daily.

I had superlift springs which were 230lbs and went down to a 170 progressive spring and they ride much better. I have BDS shocks.

You should know how much weight your truck has before ordering springs, if you have a lot of weight on there a progressive spring might not work out for you.

Love my Deaver coils

Hated the Rustys I had in there before, wayy too soft, made the jeep feel wallowy

Hardly any extra weight at all. Surco rack, no accessories, no winch.
