Vac line for defroster

This line is not connected to the A/C controls and I can't locate it under the dash anywhere. So I am needing to run a new one. Where does it connect under the hood? Is it the vac canister? Keep in mind that my XJ has a chevy 350 carb motor rather than the factory drivetrain.

Year??

There should be two lines coming out of the firewall just to the right of the heater core (looking at engine from front). One black, one pink or tan. The black line goes to the reservoir, on the engine side and connects behind the HVAC control panel.

The pink/tan line goes to the heater control valve up to 1996. 97+ I dunno since there is no HCV on 97+.

Shouldn't make a difference what the power plant is as long as you (or PO) did not rip out vac lines without capping them during the swap process.
