Need Help

I have a 95 cherokee sport straight 6 auto .. ive been trying to put my transfer case back in it for some time now and it just isnt going in all the way. Im about a quarter inch away from the back of the transmission and it just wont budge .. my case is a NP 231J any ideas on why it might not fit ?

I rebuilt my 242 and had the same issue. I just put the bolts in and tightened them down. Haven't had an issue yet. Have put maybe 15K miles on it in the last 2 years.

Please forgive me if I'm stating the utterly obvious to you, but make sure that you did not leave a locating pin in the old tranny and the corresponding one in the new TC.*


(* I've been doing this stuff for decades, over and over, and I still did that not too long ago!)
