Torque Converters Swap ?

Search brings up nothing. Are the AW4 converters all the same over the years ? My 90 has the old 21 spline output's. I have a new 23 spline output tranny and case to go in out of a ???

Will my "old" converter bolt up to the newer trans ?
Do I need a newer converter for the newer trans ?
Do I need a newer flex plate as well ?
TCU off the new unit or will the old one work ?

Without knowing the year of the trans, I can only tell you this. You must use your flexplate, probably the converter is the same.

I am not positive but I think it's out of a 99 or 2000.

Lots of differences there like speed sensor etc.

Not worried about the speed sensor, it won't be hooked up. This is off road only. The plug for the TCU looks the same so I think the old one would work fine but I've never read anything that says the converters swap or don't. If the TCU is different I'll just wire it myself.

I just really need to know if the converters swap over or not. Seems nobody has mentioned having an issue anywhere I can find ? I want to swap them but not without knowing that they will like one another.

Go to www.rockauto.com and look up a converter for each of the Jeeps and see if they're the same or not.
