hey guys. I want to know if you think this ZJ FRONT drive shaft will fit my lift so I dont have to buy a custom one (it's the one in bold) I was going to pull one from the JY

RE 4.5 superflex and 33's. plans for shackle relo and long arms later for what it's worth

and here is the SYE I will be getting eventually.

so do you think it's a good idea to run this setup? any speculation if it will work or not? I'll of course install larger ujoints

5.2 with a 231? Goodluck finding that! You will be much better off just having one made to spec.. Or getting a used one and having it lenghtened.. I'm dealing with the same issue right now..

My front shaft is 35" long, and i need 37.5"

The 96/98 4.0 242 is about an inch longer than the xj. I used one on the front of mine to extend the wheelbase a touch

that was option #2. pull one and have my buddy lengthen it. probably much easier I just dont want him to see a dime becuase hes kind of a prick hahaha

how tall are you sitting to need 37.5"

7" lift.. So it sounds like the shaft i need to have lengthened would probably work perfectly for you.. figures.. right:rolleyes:

sounds like I'll end up custom then. the only problem is that jb conversions doesnt make one.
the heavy duty spicer 1310 CV for $235.00 looks alright.

so JB and that driveshaft. any last comments?
or have a stock front xj shaft lengthened

I'm not sure on rear shafts, but I kept my front shaft when I went from a LP to a HP under the front of my 2000 and it's the perfect length with around 4.5" of lift.
(Also, I have a 242 if that matters)

Edit: I'd wait until you install your 8.8 and SYE, measure the gap and go get a shaft that's close. There are too many variables to predict what you'll need. Some rear springs put your axle closer to the tcase, my buddy's shaft was too short before he swapped springs and now it's perfect.
