Remote start/key transponder.

I have a 2000 xj limited.

I put a remote start in it and it starts up idles then turns off seconds after it's started. I've rechecked all my wiring and everything checks out right. I was wondering if the key might be chipped so I left it in the ignition in the on position. Still does the same thing.

Anyone have a clue? Maybe factory alarm or immobilizer? It does not seem that I have an alarm. I have left the window open and opened the door. no alarm sounds and starts up.

Ideas?

Just a stab in the dark but does it shut off at the same time the interior light times out?

I'll have to look at that. I wasn't paying attention to that.

No factory alarm. Look for the Sentry Key factory anti-theft module. If you have a gray key, you have Sentry Key.
