Gear Pattern Check

Dana 44 4.56 gears and Detroit locker install.

First pattern check and it actually looks pretty good. Perhaps I could increase the pinion shim a little to increase the depth on the drive pattern?

Looking for a second (or multiple) opinion(s).

Oh yeah, backlash is at 7 thou.

I would say that is about perfect, you will not likely get it any better.

Wasn't happy so I decided to increase the inner pinion shims by 3 thou.

Now I am feeling pretty proud. :loveu:

After the .003" you look a tad deep, I would go back.

Same thing I thought after looking at the pics.

Set it back to the original set up and then installed the new bearings and for the final (fingers crossed) install.

Final backlash at 6 thou and final pattern check looked just like the first. :guitar:
