Seal puller, screwdriver and hammer, slide hammer with hook... pick your poison.

I tried a screwdriver, but couldn't get a good hook on it. I will try a seal puller. Thanks!!

I had to remove the rear output seal on my 231 to access the snap ring behind it. I just used a chisel, and slowly peeled the seal back. Eventually you can just pry it out. Careful of gulling up the case since it's cast aluminum.

I bought a seal puller for Orilleys and it came right out. $10 well spent!! Torx, next time you need to remove a seal stop by & get it. Beats a chisel anyday.
