The braze is cracked where the fuel return tube goes through the round plate that mounts to the tank.

What can I use to repair this? Is JB weld gas proof?

Is that on the top side of the tank?

If yes, It it is worth a try. I used metal filled JB weld on a carburator and throttle plate on an old 71 Ford LTD that saw gasoline and held for years. I even filed it smooth for a sealing surface gasket. It handled the thermal expansion, heat and gasoline just fine. Trick is to get a good clean dry un-rusted surface first!!!!!

That is the "inside" side of the tanks.

I've already cleaned it up with a wire wheel on a Dremel tool.

Sounds good. Make sure you remove any zinc coating off the bond area with the Dremel tool!!!

Can you seal it on the outside? Or do both sides?

Well I sealed both tubes with JB Weld Kwik. So far no leakage.
