Another HP44 Question

I'm putting together a 1/2 ton hp44 (with the weld on wedges). My question is, does anyone know if I should have the oil slinger on the pinion. I got the front end as an empty housing so have no old parts to look at and my install kit for a hp44 didn't come with it, but I do have an extra one laying around if I need it. Anyway, thanks for any info.

Yes, the HP44 requires a slinger.
