I am ready for an XJ to drive from my house to the desert/mountains/exploring with my kids.

I have looked at a bunch, but most seam neglected or beat up.

I come from a long past of CJ5/7 jeeps.

So, Howdy! Anyone have an XJ for sale?

Welcome-Keep an eye on the for sale section. If Your going to build one I see nice one's on the road all the time. If Your looking for one built already, don't be surprised they're beat a bit...Some more than a bit. When I bought mine it had more money in parts on it then I paid for it.

First I am looking for reliability. Drivable to the desert or mountains. Goal would be long arms, 31' to 33" tires, Not sure about a locker.( are they really needed?) 4 door, off road roof rack, and a bar of gold in the back seat.Body/paint condition is of no concern to me.
Price depends on the vehicle. Oil leaks bug me, and I hate tranny problems.
Am I too whinny? lol.

:D

Mine's lifted (approximately 7"), locked, alloy shafts, lockers front and rear, sitting on 34s, roof rack, hi-lift, winch, etc. VERY reliable, not real powerful (Renix).

engages in pissing contest :p

Mine is somewhere between 6-7", locked ( 5.13's) 44 front/ 60 rear alloys front and rear, Custom 3 link, Porno red interior ;), HO that sounds like a diesel :p Metal bumpers, PSC box/ pump, High steer, RE leafs ( HD 5.5" with shackle ), 35 MT/R Kevlars with steel rims. Rear disk brakes. No cage though

Oh yea, I'm running 4.88 gearing, rear built Dana 44.

Doors are black now, otherwise same look. Replaced them to get manual rollers, not because of damage. :D

The info:

4.5” Rusty’s lift with 2” boost out front and shackles out back.

34” Intercos with okay tread left

Real nice AJ's rock rails - saves your bacon, have no doubt.

hitch

Dana 44 rear axle, alloy shafts/4.88s, Grizzly locker

Dana 30 front, alloy shafts/4.88s/Aussie locker/big joints

Aluminum rims, real light

12,000 lb winch, roof rack w/spare and hi-lift, etcetera.

CB, off-road lights, the usual.

The bad:

Renix engine isn’t real powerful for hill climbs, does extremely well off-road. It gets to Big Bear, just not at 60mph lol.

Black doors, faded red paint, etcetera.

Steering column wobbles a little, has since I bought it. never bothered me.

That’s really bout it.

$4500 firm
