New problem with one piece axle conversion

Got the lock-right done.

I just got the axles back in. After FINALLY getting the correct seal to fit the inner housing. No more CAD.

Great !!!! Almost done !!!

NOW the passenger side rotor wont seat on the axle .. It hits the knuckle ! It seems like the axle is about 1/4" shorter ???

The axle is from a 2001 TJ and my XJ is a 1990..

Am I going insane ? Or has anybody else run into this ? :wow::smsoap::dunno:

are you using the TJ unit bearing?

Yes. I put the whole shaft from the TJ in with the hub still attached .

you'll need the unit bearing from your Jeep-- it's about 1/4" taller than the late model one

do you have your old one unit bearing laying around? id suspect they are different even though the shafts are supposed to be the same.

Yes, I still have the 2 piece with the hub unit attached to the outer.

Is the hub the unit bearing ? Sorry for the stupid question......

si, senor. Swap the hub/unit bearings and you'll be golden.
