np231 01 xj question

Can anybody verify for me that the 01 231 has the same 23 spline shaft as my 99 does. Seems to be the general consensus from my googling but I'd like to be sure... I cracked the tail housing in my 99 231 and have access to a 01 231 with less miles... I think it should swap no problem but can anybody confirm for me? is the speed sensor the same? My 99 is a manual and the 01 is an auto, not sure if that makes a difference or not?

I believe anything from 94 up has the 23 spline. For sure your 01 and 99 does

okay cool... as for the second half of the question... anybody swapped a 01 tcase from an auto into a 99 manual? I'm curious if everything is going to be a direct swap
