Need help knowing where to splice wires for LitePLATE

I bought the LED license plate LitePLATE from ORO. This setup has the 3rd brake light. I really don’t care if the 3rd brake light works since my license plate is mounted on the side of my tire carrier instead of the center. I’m trying to figure out the best method to wire it up. All the directions that I find on the internet is for a Wrangler. Does anyone know where I should splice the wires? I have a red, green, and black. According to the directions, the Tail/License plate light is Green, the brake is Red, and the Ground is black. Couldn’t I splice into the OE license plate wiring, or is there a better place?

Just so everyone knows what I'm working with, I got the Poison Spyder kit because it includes 6’ feet of wire.

All you need to do is splice it to the parking light circuit at one of the tail lights. The OEM plate wires will work just as well. I used one of these http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/Pilot-Automotive-White-license-plate-LED-light/_/N-25pw?itemIdentifier=873393_0_0_
and IIRC there was more than enough wire to hook it up. Half of the cost of the Poison Spider unit.

I would go for the tail light closest to your spare carrier, splice in there.
