rear shock different lengths ?

I always had shock boots on my truck so I never noticed this before , but I went to put upper bar pin eliminators on my rear shocks and I took the boots off and when I bolted everything back up I noticed the passenger rear shock has like an inch less shaft showing then the diver side , this is real odd to me , the shocks are the same length and I measured my actual Frame rail both sides to the axel and they measure identical , I can't figure out why the shocks are sitting different , nothing looks bent or tweaked , had anyone ever noticed this or had this issue ?

is your axle rotated to correct pinion angle? If you do the passenger mount is rotated up and the driver side mount is rotated down. The only way to fix it is to relocate the axle end mounts.

It's normal. It's the difference between the location of the shock on the axle relative to the location on the unibody. The passenger side is angle less than the drivers side.

I noticed it years ago when I had my XJ on a lift. The drivers side of the axle drooped less than the passenger.

I'm lifted six inches and wanted the axle to droop the same on both sides so I run two different length shocks in the rear.

Most guys never notice the difference.
