94 231 from aw-4 on to 95 AX-15 both 23 spline

So my Transfer case has had better days and I have a parts rig its a 94 Auto with a 231 . My 95 AX-15 also has the 231 I have read that 91+ have 23 spline count got my info from NOVAK so it seems that I could have a very simple swap ahead of me . Has anyone done this used a 231 from a AW-4 equiped rig and installed it in a AX-15 rig ? I know this has been covered alot but I cant seem to punch the right stuff in my google search. Any help would be very helpful

A ling as splines are the same you should be good to go.

There are input gear length changes that really confuse me but I am gonna go out on a limb and say you'll be fine. If not it will be really obvious while trying to bolt it on, it won't seat correctly.

I know a 96+ auto 231 (think mine is off a 99, I forget really) will fit a 95 ax15 great.
