JCR Nutstrips, do they need paint?

I was going to sand and paint JCR nutstrips, but there appears to be a pretty tough coating on them. Do they need paint? Tried calling JCR but they are closed through the end of the year.

I put a heavy primer on mine. My rig has a fair amount of surface rust in the back and I didn't want it to spread anymore that it already has. Paint is cheap insurance to reduce the risk of paying for the same thing again. Besides, you want your rig to last forever, right?

serious?? quit flooding pages with useless questions like this
Chill out dude! Quit padding your post count with posts like this.... Oh wait.... What post count? Or punctuation?

On the Jcr website it says that all products come non painted. I will be painting mine when I get around to them. I would take some spare bolts and thread them in the welded nuts so you don't paint the inside of the nuts.
Answer is yes.

Thanks Danger Dave, and 91to99, I went ahead and epoxy primed them. The coating that was on it was just so tough I thought it may not need it. Maybe my 80 grit flapper needs to be replaced.

I painted our set with Eastwood Extreme Chassis Coat Black after hitting them with a rust removal desk (with help from a wire wheel around the welded-on nuts). The steel coating IS pretty tough, but these wheels work much better than a flap wheel for removing it (I tried both).

Thanks Craig, if I had known I would have purchased another one. I have a 3M sandblaster disc similar to that picture. But it was worn down to nothing. I should have bought a new one. It did work well last time I used it. I'll Have to pick some more of these up next time I am at the store.
