Rough Country Winch Bumper Pictures

Just installed the Rough Country Winch bumper and figure that I'd post some pictures. I have the set of d-ring mounts/d-rings on the way, and am still trying to decide between the light bar or stinger for it.

How beef is this bumper? I almost ordered it today but wasn't sure it looked sturdy enough. They don't put the metal thickness on the specs from the site

I can get pictures of the unibody tie-in's this weekend. It's currently in the shop getting the engine replaced due to a cracked head.

It's a pretty sturdy bumper, 5 bolts on the unibody, including the ones that tie into the steering box on the driver side.

I know the thickness of the metal has not been stated yet but it does look like it may be thin as the bumper looks kind of tin can-ish to me. That thing sticks way out there too. Just my $.02

It's not that bad,infact.. better than some of the ones I've seen! The only way to get to com in more is to do away with the unibody crossmember and not alot of guys are looking to do that.

Modifying the crossmember is not the ONLY way to tuck it up more. My custom bumper is higher clearance than this with an unmodified crossmember. It's a few threads down, placement of the winch laterally is key to keeping the bumper tucked up high / maximizing air flow through the grill. It's actually pretty easy, but I haven't seen very many aftermarket (non-custom) bumpers that don't stick out a ton. I think JCR and Dirtbound do a good job with their clearance.

It's pretty beefy. I think it's about 60-lbs of 3/16" steel but didn't feel any need to measure.

Haha, yeah it does look better with a bigger lift/tires. :)

Although I haven't looked at many other winch bumpers in person, this one seems plenty sturdy to me.

I won't be able to get any pictures of the unibody mounts this weekend. Ran into a problem with the engine swap, so it'll be about another week or so.
