strange steering

99 xj 8'' long arm iro steering durango gear box.

it is not bump steer. say my steering wheel is leave and i am going str8 then the wheel has a 1/8 of a turn and still going straight. it is mainly to one side. i replaced the tracbar bushings and the steering gear box. i just don't know what it could be. it is also sloppy over bumpy road which is new to the problem.

Check the slip joint in the top of the steering shaft between the firewall and the gear box. Sometimes the joint will wear out and allow the wheel to move without actually doing anything. You can usually feel it as the wheel will turn and then suddenly grab and start working.
