Another injector question

I have tried to search this with no concrete results.

I have a '97 4.0, I switched in the 24# ford injectors with no problems. My question is, am I supposed to be using the 19# fords or the 24# fords. I have seen that the stock injectors are 23#, so why would you go with a 19# injector? One of the reasons that I ask is that my fuel mileage has dropped and was wondering if it had anything to do with the 24# injectors. I feel that they should not affect gas mileage, since the o2 sensor should read rich and adjust the injectors. Let me know your thoughts.

The ford injectors are rated at 43.5PSI. Your fuel rail is 49 PSI. The 24# are most likely too large. How long have they been installed?

About a year and a half

I had a through that the PCM hadn't learned the new injectors yet.. but over a year and half it would have learned it.

the pcm would have learned the new injectors with in a short time. the injectors you have installed may be too large for a stock or near stock engine. go back to a good set of 19lbs injectors.

i bought my injectors for my 87 XJ through www.precisionautoinjectors.com or you can find them on ebay some time.
