Broken Tab on Clock Spring

1 tab is broken off on the clock spring for a 2000 Cherokee with cruise control. Will it still work satisfactorily without any problems or do I need to replace it?

What difference would it make wether the top or bottonm tab was broken off where it connects to the steering column?
