27 spline to 29 spline

This may sound dumb to some of you guys on here but I just picked up an 8.25 27 spline rear and want to know if I was to get a carrier and axles out of a 29 spline will bolt right in or are there differences, also will the ring gear fit on the other. Thanks for the answer in advance

Why not just put the whole 29 spline axle in? It would be much easier than re setting up gears.

the ring gear on the 27 spline stuff is 3.55 but the 29 spline stuff is 3.07 and just setting the carrier and ring gear isn't that bad

You will also need the spider gears.Also your not really setting up the gears again since there is no need to deal with the pinion depth/pre-load.Just make sure to check the back-lash and pull a pattern on your current set-up.
