Looking for a bumper build thread...

sorry to post a thread like this... but searching is driving me mad. i cant find it.

im looking for a rear bumper build, was a swing dow rear tire carrier or swing out. might have had front bumper build thread too... cant say for sure. but i remember specifically that the cherokee was black. anyone remember the thread i am talking about?

RCP, that XJ was red right? I have those pics saved somewhere, Ill see if I cant find them. I seem to remember another one (black) with a swing down/out carrier. It had bright blue bushings in the swing down joints. Is that the one you're thinking of VA?

Edit 2: BOOM, I think this is the one you were looking for. Bushings were red, not blue like I thought.

thats the one! funny you mentioned blue MG, i would have swore up and down it had blue bushings too. thanks guys.




got a tech question though about the red one. i had thought about making one like that, mounted to armor on the sides. (and the awesome metal flares as well). i wasnt sure that it would be strong enough if only attached to the stock sheet metal though. thats why i was looking for the one you guys dug up. my only worry about that design though, is that the lack of separation in joints would lead to premature failure, and wiggling. would a hard joint like a heim last longer?

thoughts?

love that guys bumpers. he says he has almost no movement with the tire carrier the way it is.

If anyone wants more pictures of the swing down bumper on the red jeep I have quite a few. Maybe I should post them in the original thread because they are gone?
