noob with a speedo/tach problem

I've searched high and low but haven't found any post with the same problem as my xj its a 97 which I have heard are wiring messes.

Anyway my problem is my speedo/tach will just dump while driving the rest of the gauges work and the speedo/tach will come back eventually (1-5min) the weird thing is if as soon as they go out if I turn my right blinker on they both come back!

Any help would be appreciated

common problems with the dash. Take out gauge cluster, clean connections(you are there any ways) then plug back in and make sure that they are securely plugged in. Alot of the mid 90's and newer XJ's have had loose connector issues.
