Dana 44 Detroit Locker questions

I am running a rather old Detroit Locker in my D44. I am getting a clunk going from accellerate to coast and it is not the drive shaft, it is from the locker. The locker has also gotten where it locks up way too easy. The gear lash is fine as is the pattern. I got this used probably 10+ years ago and have wheeled the piss out of it. I need to find where I can get new internals for this.

From what I have gathered, there have been several models of the locker over the years. Can anybody point me to a site where I can verify what version of the locker I have and even better, where I can buy replacement springs, etc?

I have pix of the locker if you would like to see what it looks like.

Some searching leads me to a Pirate thread that says Drivetrain Specialists (www.drivetrainspecialists.com) sells them, but I can't find them on their site. Maybe you have to call, not sure.

They show a TT71427 parts kit for a detroit (not sure which) that says to call the guys @ detroitlocker for more info on parts application. It looks like everything for the inside of a detroit, but $123 is a lot less than a new locker costs so if it fits yours I'd probably go for it.

Thanks, I found Drive Train Specialists as well, but found nothing on their site. "If it fits" is the problem. I was hoping to come up with info so I could verify the model of locker I have. Led has said he will donate his old busted locker if I can use any parts, but it would be nice to find a model ID and be able to compare online before wasting a bunch of time and taking the rig down for a week or so.

The model # of the Detroit I installed in "04" is #187SL-16C , 3.92 and up.
I believe the "SL" is for soft locker,,,,and it is a Tractech mfg,,which is Eaton ??
I don,t know if the part # is stamped or etched on the case anywhere...

Never has been anything soft about the lock up on this.
