I have a 91 jeep cherokee laredo i have broken my left rear axel and want to just get a hole new rear end.. i am wondering what i should replace it with...

Chrysler 8.25 or Dana 44 are the easy bolt-in options. Ford 8.8 is slightly tougher.

Ive never even seen an axel, let alone one with a hole in it!!
If you go with a C8.25,make sure to get a 29 spline.

But the question is...is it a 27 or 29-spline 8.25?

If it's a 96, you got to pull a shaft and count to be absolutely sure.

If it looks like this, it would be a Chrysler 8.25 axle.
Note look at the "rhino" nose on the housing the prominent bumps on the axle center housing right over the pinion gear shaft.
