Hello,

I have a 1988 Cherokee 4.0l auto. Last night I needed to put on the A/C

and it didn't turn on and the blower wouldn't go on either. Checked the fuse

and it was no good, so I put in a new fuse and as soon as I turn on the A/C

the fuse blew again. I don't know anything about the electrics, do I have a

short somewhere and how do I find it and fix it?

When my 92 started doing this I took apart the dash and got to the blower speed switch itself. The switch was melted to the point that all the wires were pretty much in contact with each other.

I cleaned up the switch and redid the connection's and it's been working like a champ for a year no problem.

That's just one of many things it could be.

Check the harness that comes from ac compressor and runs along top, under upper rad hose. I found several Renix era Jeeps worn through and caused this problem.
