wheel to tire size?

ok i kno its kind a dumb, but i cant find a rim to wheel size chart. im wanting to kno if u can put a 35-12.5 on a 15-8 rim without having to wory much or if i will even work. either way if u kno the max size tire width per style of rim or a chart pls inform me cud use the help?!
 
The tire manufacturer should have a minimum rim width spec for the tire. Safety first - honor their recommendation.

Specific details help tremendously (tire brand/model) if you want to tap into the knowledge and experience of other members. Post that and you'll likely get some good feedback.
